Margaret Edith English (Hearn)
September 29, 1939 – January 26, 2026
Margaret Edith English (née Hearn) passed away peacefully on January 26, 2026, at the age of 86, surrounded by the love of her family.
Margaret was predeceased by her beloved husband, Eric English, and is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Madalin Emerson (Matt) and Alison Taylor (Jason), and her cherished grandchildren, Morgan and Caitlin Taylor, who lovingly called her "Nanny." She is also survived by her sisters, Maureen Webster and Susan Stevenson, as well as many extended family members and dear friends.
Born on September 29, 1939, in Belfast, Ireland, Margaret later moved with her family to South East London, where she met her future husband, Eric — the boy next door. Together, Margaret and Eric immigrated to Canada, building a life that took them through Toronto, Cobourg, and the Trenton area. Margaret worked for many years at Canada Post, where she was known for her warmth and where she formed lifelong friendships.
Margaret enjoyed gardening, travelling throughout Ontario and beyond, spending time on the water in Wellers Bay, and sailing on Lake Ontario — but most of all, she treasured time spent with her family.
Margaret will be remembered for her kindness, strength, sense of humour, and unmistakable laugh. Her legacy lives on through her children, grandchildren, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
"Mind how you go..."
